Socialism vs. Capitalism by Phaedra

Socialism is when the community as a whole has control of the production and distribution of the materials in a land. Capitalism is when private companies have control of each separate material. I think capitalism is definitely more ‘in tune’ with human nature, as people just do not want to share their resources. I think socialism eliminates any means of competition, which is actually a good thing, but many people don’t see it that way. In my opinion, a socialist country requires a lot of trust, you trust other people with your materials. So in a way, a capitalist country is easier because you look out for your own things. I don’t think it would be fit to call one more “fair” than the other, as each are equally fair. I think in this case it’s a matter of which one is more useful for each country and its economy. It’s fair that everyone shares and has equal rights on different things. But it’s also fair that a person is allowed to own his/her own business and do with it was he/she wants. The role of money in our society is to control it. Our society revolves around the idea of money and time. It is said that “money can’t buy time”, giving time more meaning than money. But then again, it is also said that “time is money”. The more time we spend working the more money we get. The less time, the less money we get. But all in all, most people’s main goals in life is money, we study hard to get good degrees, to get good jobs, to in the end, give us fatter paychecks. Money, in the end, is our life.
