Majorn maduro "A true Hero "

Majron works with youth of the Fuik neighborhood in Curacao, giving them the opportunity to learn and develop vital skills that are important for their development as responsible citizens for our community he does this though activities that promote pattriotismand clitoral development.
Majron has been involved in community work for 5 years. He started when he was only 22 years old and already self-sufficient. It is highly remarkable that despite his young age and his difficult past (a not-wanted child from a poor single parent family, mother and 4 children, lack of money and food), he became so committed to improving his neighborhood and the life of others, especially the youth from poor / problem families, by motivating and inspiring them and giving them tools to improve their own life.
Majron was raised in Kinderoorden Brakkeput and G.O.G. (government reformatory in Curacao ). He grew up to be a positive young man, against all odds. He now uses his experience to help other youngsters who otherwise would not have the opportunity to develop themselves positively. He is currently working on projects to foster awareness of horticulture, team building, knowledge of culture, patriotism and music skills among the youth.
He has a direct impact on his own environment. He teaches the young people around him to be disciplined, independent, take responsibility, not to give up but fight for their dreams. He reaches kids, young people, but also their parents and elderly in his neigborhood. He dreams of having his own boarding school in the future or becoming Director of such institution to be able to manage it in his own way. He has already chosen a name for a foundation, translated in English: “Foundation A Good Youngster for a Good Family”.
After terminating boarding school Majron has done all kinds of jobs, but after military service his future started to look better.
He worked as security guard at 2 public bodies before ending at Kinderoorden Brakkeput where he was offered a permanent contract as coach. He works nightshifts from 11.00 p.m. – 8.00 a.m. During the night he prepares everything for the next morning, wakes up the children who need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. At 5.00 a.m. he wakes up the children and helps them in preparing themselves to go to school. The bus picks them up every morning at 6.30 a.m.
During daytime Majron works at his plantation (project “Tera di Floria”), which was a wilderness before he developed the land, of course with the approval from the landlord. He invited the youngsters from Kinderoorden Brakkeput and from the Fuik neighborhood who found their way to this plantation where they learned the art of horticulture. He is finishing half built apartments (on the rented land with also a small and a larger somewhat dilapidated house) where youngsters can have a good start by means of a guided 2 years education, and thus a second chance after terminating their boarding school period.
He lives in the small house and the larger house is used for studying, trainings and a place to rest. A brass band is making use of this place for trainings as there is no community centre in this neighborhood. He has many future plans for the larger house like building a study, a recreation space and a tv-room.
He supports a cultural group for the yearly harvest-festival, runs the “Piki Bòter” project (collecting glass bottles to exchange for cash) to support families with financial difficulties, arranged distribution of Curacao flags and flagpoles in his neighborhood in light of the 25th anniversary of the Curacao Flag this year. On top of that he bikes 2x a week with the children of Kinderoorden Brakkeput. He sleeps very little and is always busy with his projects and supporting people 24/7.

Dear Mr. Daniel Kinzer,

The inspiration that you have given is really helpful in my life. You are a teacher and a coach who is a inspiration. The inspiration that you gave me is never give up in life. There is lots of inspiration in you. The one inspiration I really liked is that for each and every break you have to travel. You like to discover the world. The best thing about you as a teacher, coach, and as a husband is that how stupid anyone could be you wouldn’t lose you your temper on them. You are one of the smartest people I have ever met. As a teacher you have showed me the right path to lead life. You have been a role model who is from the BEGINNING to me. I have learned a lot from you which will help me in my future. You are one of the greatest. I am thanking you for all the help that I have gotten from you which has made me a better person.

Sincerely,

Your Student Dhirenraj Dhruv

KEMPI

Kempi,
someone that really inspired me was Kempe Veen (A.K.A KEMPI), Kempi is a 20 year old guy from Curacao he moved to Holland because it didn’t really work out for him here, he became a drop out and starts hustling. He used to live with his mom but he moved out because he became choler and didn’t have anything. But Kempi was really good in rapping and he started rapping on the streets for money and people gave him 1 to 2 euro’s. People said to Kempi that he is stupid and that he can never be normal person living under a roof, but Kempi didn’t give up he said one day I will become rich with my rap talent. Ones this guy walked buy he was a producer from TopNoch productions he really saw a rap talent in Kempi, so he said to Kempi if you can figure out a way to get clothes and to take a shower pass at my office and gave him a business card. Kempi went to the office and recorded a song called so veel stress (so much stress). It got really popular so he came out with his first album. Kempi was making a lot of money and bought his own house and a bigger one for his mom, every month he sends money for his mom and his other siblings. Kempi went from nothing to a freaking music artist. What I learned from him is to never give up!!!!

Blake Mycosie

Project Who Inspires Me

For my project i choose Blake Mycoskie, and he is the founder of TOMS Shoes.
It began while just dropped out Southern Methodist University and went to visit Argentine in January 2006. He said "I was sitting on a farm pondering life, and it occurred to me, 'I'm going to start a shoe company, and for every pair that we sell, I'll give a pair to someone who needs them". And he also said he would start a business rather than a charity would his impact last longer.
At the Second Annual Clinton Global Initiative he said Mycoskie recalled that children without shoes were not only susceptible to health risks, but were not allowed to go to school. When asked "why shoes?" Mycoskie's main reason is a disease called podoconiosis. Also known as "Mossy Foot""there are over 1 Billion people at risk around the world, and shoes can prevent it. Mycoskie emphasizes that his company's goal is to not only give shoes, but to also educate others on the importance of shoes.

Since 2006 more than 300,000 pairs of shoes are given with TOMS' One for One movement(shoes have been given to children in the United States (Louisiana, Kentucky, Mississippi and Florida), Argentina, Ethiopia and South Africa. ) And with collaboration with Clinton Global Intuitive, TOM gave a one time donation.

In January TOMS worked with Element Skateboards to a new line of shoes, skate decks and longboards, and for each of TOMS Element shoes or/and skaeboard is bought they will give the same to kids at the Indigo Skate Camp, in the villige Isithumba, Dubran, South Africa

Blake want to began the One for One program with other companies for areas like housing, water and schoolbooks so they can give the same material to kids in need.

In 2007, Blake was invinted with to speak along with President Bill Clinton at the Opening Plenary of the Second Annual CGI U Meeting. In February 2009 Mycoskie also spoke at the TED conference (Technology, Entertainment, Design), a meeting of peers including people such as Bill Gates. Blake has also visited the White House. On March 6, 2009 he attended a meeting with President Obama's Senior Administration with other business leaders to present viable solutions and ideas regarding U.S. economic policy(Specifically, he presented information regarding potential in the economic plan to support small businesses in the U.S.)

How does he inspire me ?
He inspires how one person can help more 300,000 after dropping out of college.

Lacey Mosley

Angelica Pita

My Inspiration, project
History 10B

For over tree years I have been looking up to this girl. I found her music in a well hidden indie scene website when she was still part of a band called Sporos. Her story is very inspirational yet sad. Lacey Mosley was born on September 4, 1981, and grew up in Arlington, Texas. Throughout her earlier years, she was an outspoken Atheist. At the age of ten she started using drugs due to fights with her mom. Her early life was very traumatizing.
She was once quoted saying, "I was trying to figure out who I was and anything to separate me from my family, or to separate me from my situation at home was good to me," She said. "It was like a warzone going home." When Lacey Mosley was fourteen years old, she received a bass guitar for Christmas and began playing Nirvana and Green Day songs with her brother who played guitar. When Mosley was 16, she got into a huge argument with her family and was soon kicked out of the house because the police started to get involved, and moved to Gulfport, Mississippi to live with her grandparents. There she attended high school and joined a band that was in need of a bass player. Lacey Mosley went on to sing for the band, and picked up guitar so she could write her own songs. At the same year she went through the depression, and lost her boyfriend and her siblings. All went wrong, and one day she decided she was going to kill herself. On the same day her grandmother took her to church. She became “enlightened” by higher power, and turned her life around completely.
I’m not a religious person, but the fact that she could turn her life around like that at such a young age and be so successful is amazing. After that day, at the age of 17 she started a band called Flyleaf. As Passerby, the band released three EPs and played over 100 shows in Texas alone over the span of two years under the booking and promotion company Runt Entertainment. Her songs became an inspiration to teens struggling with family issues and dabbling drugs. I think her song lyrics make you think twice about life. She is now a very famous lead singer, and on her way to a third album after recently debuting Memento Mori.
She has also started an email campaign where she asks all her fans, or just anyone to email her, and her and some volunteers act as a hotline and help out these kids. She has written several songs about some very shocking life stories. She even has a song called Cassie, written in memory of the Columbine shooting victims.
She has inspired me, by showing me that there is more to life. She has shown her strong will to get out of this mess, and instead of ignoring what happened and drowning in her current happiness, she is out there helping teens everyday who struggle through the same things as her. And she is now married, and an adult, but its still amazing the things she accomplished at such an early age.
She is my inspiration, Lacey Mosley.

Letter to Michael Jackson (Amrit's Project part)

Greetings Mr. Jackson,
How have you been? I am writing this letter to you to tell you, how your music inspires me. Your music inspires me and the world in many different ways. First, of all before I begin, I would like to say, that I am a huge fan of yours! Anyways let’s begin. Some of your music such as “They don’t really care about us” gives me a vision that is showing how the world is changing in many ways. Terrorism is being increased day by day everywhere in the world. Our government is sitting back and relaxing, while innocents are dying every second. That song really made the whole world think.
I saw your documentary about you with Mr. Martin Bashir. I just wanted to say that the first part was really kind of sad, about your father beating you and your brothers with instruments like iron cords, and belts. Now I wanted to ask you a question based on that topic. Why did he do that? I know that you guys must have practiced the dance steps well and did your part, but still he would hit you. What was the reason behind all this?
Do you have any regrets that he used to beat you? I mean do you think it was worth it? Some people would say that’s a stupid question, but some would respond normally. Do you actually think that your father’s beatings and strictness made you who you are now? Its personal question, I know, but it’s up to you if you want to answer it or not.

I read this “Gossip Facts” about you, and there are some facts that was kind of weird and some were very hilarious. In 1984, did your mother did not allow you to go through surgery? The reason why I am asking that is because a girl committed suicide because of that reason. I can’t believe that Mc Hammer challenged you in a dance off! Man he had guts to do that. So did you challenge him in that time? I hope you did, you must have beaten him fair and square.
Mr. Jackson, you have inspired many people in the world. You gave hope to poor and the people who are suffering from sickness. You have inspired kids and teens to get involved into the music industry from your songs such as “Thriller”. My question to you is who has inspired you that made you who you are now? Who inspired you to join the music industry? I know there is someone.
Before I end my letter I have few last moment questions to ask you. As time is flying very fast, your kids are growing up fast. Would you involve your kids into the music industry? Why or why not? What are your plans for the future? Are you going to make more albums? Mr. Jackson, I know this question sounds weird, but I ask some of the people I know this question. Here it goes…. How do you wish to die? I realize it’s a weird question but I just want to know for a fact.
Anyways sir, it was nice writing to you, hope you get a chance to read my letter and reply back to me. Take care sir, and say hi to your kids
From your fan,
Amrit Khatwani
